As I prepared for Christmas this year, I focused on keeping it simple and keeping it consistent. So, we’ll end up at the same house, same people, same schedule, practically the same menu and maybe even the same clothes. We’ll likely sit in the same spots as we gather around the same decorated tree to exchange gifts. To set the world on Fire, stick with community!
Time for confession… I’ve felt myself pull back lately from the administrative side of my church involvement, frustrated by the conflicts and bureaucracy of running a church.
We stand together at the end of a worship service and fervently sing “Build Your Kingdom Here” by Rend Collective. We sing with joy and celebration and passion – and I think in that moment we all mean the words we sing. Continue reading
